Modern Tool Helps A Stroke Victim

"Jim, 48 years old, had a stroke about six months ago. But to live in the country, he was collapsed on the floor until he could remember a friend's phone number." Lynn live "by chance a couple of hours in the city. Jim lost time and had no idea that he had been on the floor for 12-15 hours. He kept picking at his limp left arm, thinking it was one of the legs of his dog. Finally came the inhabitants who had been alerted by Lynn and Jim got to the hospital. He was thenby helicopter to a city that could cope better his condition. Jim for a month recovering in hospital before being transferred to a rehabilitation center. Because of the continued paralysis of the stroke, he would remain there until he is able to "graduate" received by the possibility of starting from the ground when he fell.

Jim is currently living in a friend's apartment in the city. He decided that he would not, in a wheelchair, and he is now moving in the situation carefully with aSugarcane. He can not feel his left leg when he says, it helps to support it. His left arm was partially paralyzed from birth, and it rested in a sling with the fingers curled and twisted into a knot. Although the left side of his body has been deeply altered by the strike, if it does not affect his speech or his thinking process.

I asked him to rate the tightness in his left hand, and he replied that it was a 9 / 10. He had gently lift his left arm in a sling with hisright hand. He really could not lift his left arm independently.

I told Jim that I was looking for feelings that were unresolved, and with EFT we can trigger these emotions. If we were successful, we could very well see some improvement in his condition. The most prominent feeling was sadness. Jim told me that for the first month after his stroke, he cried the whole time. He admitted he had a lot of loss, even before the attack six months ago. Many people who were nearbydied he was (I saw his eyes sparkle when he talked about his deceased friend). Then there was the pain is not in a position to his body as he used to feeling helpless to use to actually be able, many of the things to do used to be easy.

His first reported to be suffering at an intensity of 5, but then realized that in reality, if we dig a little deeper, it was a 10/10. The set-up were phrases we use: Even if

I feel deep pain for all losses, I had toin my life, I deeply and completely love and accept myself.

I feel sorrow for all the friends who have checked out ...

I feel sorrow for not been able to use my body to ...

First I tried to tap him, but then decided it would be best for him to develop himself. It was difficult for him to develop his karate chop point on the side of the hand, so he knocked the corner of a piece of furniture. The reminder phrase we used for the first round was "deep sadness." Then Istarted returning to the specific points he had raised to repeat those that seemed most strongly for the next few laps. Then I asked him rant about everything that they have the funeral, while he knocked. Many of the things that he had received to do with him, not in a position at his ranch in the country to live the life and lack of style. His SUD level for his grief went to a 4 / 10. A few more rounds of tapping expressed his sadness SUD level down to zero, and he said he feltrelaxed. The tension in his hand went from 9 to 7-5.

Next, we have decided to work on his fear. His anxiety level was about SUD 8th He wished that he would not get better, and do so in order to be able to things. The anxiety level went pretty fast (2-3) while typing, but then we are falling into the conversation before about his fear and his SUD level reappeared with a 5, and then rapidly dropped to zero. I looked at his hand and saw it loose, and hereported, had gone a zero. I asked him to consider the metaphor of the hand holds grief, and that he had let go of sadness today.

Then I asked him to leave, and since he did not feel concerned about falling, he went with a lot more confidence and balance, as he had when I first saw him was. All this with just two hours after the release of grief and anxiety with EFT. Once again I find myself humbled and of what EFT can do, astonished.
